My Purple and Lilac Card

Over on MSE there is a challenge for a purple and lilac card, Here's mine,

This one was done quickly whilst being watched my Miss S, I used black and purple card from the Papermill and matted and layered it, then added some Smirk embellishments, a couple of coloured in corner stickers and some bling and a happy birthday stamp.

Dad's 60th Birthday Book.

It's been a while since I finished this book so I thought it was about time I blogged it,
Dad turned 60 last month and I wanted to give him a This is Your Life book, which took some organising mostly begging family members for photo's of Dad.  This is the first time I had tried something like this and I was very pleased with the results,

I got my inspiration from here and just amended it to fit my needs,

For the front cover I used basic grey paper which was great it looked like an old leather book, and to finish it off I  added some gold lettering and an gold glittery band

This is the first page and it covers his youth, when he met Mum and after they had me and my brother.

This page covers his 30's and 40's and I have included some icons that were relevant to Dad at the time, ( the pacman because he loved playing pacman on the old atari 2600)

This page represents his 40's and 50's his love of tea and shirts, and where he works

and this photo was taken at his pre birthday tea, a day before Dad turned 60

Race For Life 2010

It has become a tradition for me and some of my friends to enter Race for Life, the day is usually fantastic the atmosphere electric and we all have a lot of fun whilst making money for a cause close to our hearts, and for some unknown reason it always falls on Fathers Day and the sun is always shining.

We all usually dress up and this year we chose Pink Pyjama's, over 5000 women took part this year.

It was a sea of pink, (the bottom bit is the worst bit of the course Lambay Hill)

This is us at the end of the race all with our medals, I did it in 41 minutes this year, a personal best for me.

A very quick 60th birthday card

Andy's uncle turned 60 last week, and we didn't realise until 2 days before his birthday, so I had to make a very quick 60th birthday card, for a man which is difficult at the best of times,

It was made by cutting out a large 60 on my craft robo using this template from Corinne, I then cut it in half, I then covered 3/4 of it with some male themed paper and added some peel offs and an sentiment from a Kirsty Wiseman's CD.  The 60 was then  stuck it on a card which had been embossed with tiny dots and then inked over with some blue ink, and voila done.

A Very Pink Thank You Card

My husband asked me if I could make a thank you card, (I must be improving ).

For this card I used some matching paper came with a set I got from Argos just after christmas, The shapes are cut using my peony nestabilities and just placed on top of each other, I stamped a simple Thank you sentiment and an flower ( which were a freebie from a cardmaking magazine) and then edged them in black and silver gel pens, I stamped the same flower in silver in both corners and added a bit of bling and a silver ribbon from stash to finish it off,

Boys Pirate Birthday Card

Mr A has a birthday party to go to on Sunday, which poses a bit of a challenge, a boy's birthday card, so I came up with this,

I used the pirate paper from DCWV  all about boys stack as the backing paper and added an image of pirate edwin sitting on a barrel, It seemed to lack something so I added a circular tag and added a birthday boy sentiment, and just inked around the page using ink it up inks,

4Oth Birthday Card,

It seems to be a year of big birthdays for a lot of our family and friends this year, I had two friends turn 40 on the same day and I made them the same card with a little variation,

I cut the handbag using this template on my craft robo, I then cut the same template using basic grey papers, I then cut the 40 out and then heat embossed it using a silver embossing powder, added a bit of bling and a simple sentiment.

Baby Girls 1st Birthday Card

It's one of our niece's first birthday on Sunday, and I knew I wanted to make her a card and had a slight idea of what I wanted to do and am really pleased how it turned out,

I have used a plain pink background from The Paper Mill shop, I then distressed it with some pink and silver inks from ink it up, I cut the number 1 on my  my craft robo and covered with paper from The garden Party range from DCWV, I then added Princess Tilda coloured in with prismacolour pencils, and  made the flowers using a martha stuart punch layered with a brad in the centre, and finished it off with some ribbon from my stash.
