Creative Stitches Show Exeter,

Last Saturday Sarah and I ventured north and attended the Creative Stitches and Papercraft show at Exeter's Westpoint arena, it was not as large as the ones at the NEC or Ally Pally, but it did have a lot of craft stalls and it was lovely to see things in person instead of just on a web page, I even met the lady who designed the Hougie Board. I did however get some new stash.

I ended up with ,
4 sugar nellie stamps,
3 sets of ollyfants stamps,
toolbag,
new sizzix clear mats and flourish dies,
2 laura ashley paper pads
one LLB paper pad,
some beautiful glitter and the pots,
a bow maker
2 sets of nesting shapes templates
A messy mat and some tiny scissors

We then ventured down to Trago Mills where I got,

Some more glue,
gilttery paper ribbons,
2 docrafts christmas paper packs
an embossing folder,
ribbon,
a metal ruler and craft knife and My Craft Room lines and waves embossing mat,
we had a good day shopping, just have to find the time to play with the new stash now

Boxes and more Boxes,

Today there was a demonstration day at Just Traceys  Dulcie from Wild Rose Studio was leading the demonstration and she was just lovely. The shop was very busy and I met some lovely ladies and of course got more stash.

My main purchase was this lovely bright green Hougie Board, I had been thinking about getting a score board for a while ( well at least 3 day's) and I'm so glad I did it really is fantastic, making boxes is just so easy here are some I have made in the last hour.

They are a peek - a - boo  which didn't come out as planned but was not bad for a first attempt,
A Milk Carton box,  please excuse the smudged stamping I was impatient about putting it together,
and a mini pizza box which took literally minutes to make, I think the Hougie is going to be a well used bit of kit.

Playing with colours

After watching a demonstration with Aquamarkers last week by Kirsty Wiseman , I decided to take the plunge and get some, it has taken me a week to get around to having a play with them, at the moment life is just hectic with the children being home, and Miss S always wants to use my pens, and I'm not to keen on sharing these.

This image has been coloured in using the Aquamarkers, really do get the best of both worlds with them, the finish has a subtle colour, for more in-depth colour I just used the markers straight onto the image.

I have coloured in the same image using Prismacolour pencils, I love the variation you get
and the richness of colour, that the pencils give. now I just have to make some cards to display them on.

Sports Day 2010

Last Thursday it was the children's sports day. The day was split into two parts KS1 in the morning and KS2 in the afternoon, with a picnic lunch for everyone at lunchtime,  Here are a few photo's of the children taking part,

Miss S taking part in the sack race

On the obstacle course,

And this was taken shortly after she came 1st in the 100 metre sprint.

Mr A doing the ladder run,

Taking part in a balancing activity, if only he concentrated that much on his school work,

And showing of his first place sticker after finishing his 100 metre sprint, Unfortunately we had to finish at 2pm just as the rain came so we have no idea which house won overall, but we all had a great time ( both Andy and I came 2nd in the parents races), the children are much faster than us.
