Literacy Week,

Its literacy week at the children's school today, it includes a couple of authors coming in to talk to the children a book swap and today they could dress up as characters from books so we had, The Cat in the Hat

and the witch from Room on the Broom

I have finally managed to make some cards, sometimes life just gets in the way of crafting,

I have made this on for Andy's Dad he loves aeroplanes, especially older ones. It was made using a die-cut decoupage aeroplane, some hand made paper embossed dots and wiped over with some green ink, and a piece of handmade paper for the background, the sentiment was done using a oval punch and two sentiments from the its a man's world stamp set.

This one has been made using Paper from a magazine this month, a couple of die-cut butterflies that came with a embellishment pack I got at christmas, a gorguss girl and 2 punched circles from the nesting punches I have, I just added some ribbon and bling  from my stash to finish it off,

Its been a busy week,

It's been a busy week, On friday  we went to a friends birthday party at the local dry ski slope, Andy and I opted for snow tubing and I'm glad we did it was a lot of fun and exhausting, we all then had a fondue meal, which was great I really think the fondue should be revived, This is a couple of pictures of me and Andy on the snow tubes.

Andy picked up his new bike on Saturday, and we both went out on it on Sunday it was the first time I had been on the back of a motor bike and I absolutely loved it.

And best of all I discovered a new craft shop  near me it,  http://www.justtracys.co.uk/  I popped out after I picked up the children from school on friday and came home with 2 embossing folders, a Martha Stuart punch and Stamp and a Nellie Sneddon die.

Then the best bargain of the weekend was found at a car boot sale, I managed to get all this for a grand total of £7.50, to say I was pleased was an understatement. I just have to find the time to play with it all now,

It's Oh So Quiet

And oh so still, it is the children's first day back to school, and the house seems so still and empty, still it's only 30 minutes and I have to leave to go and collect them, I wonder if dd's new shoes have lasted all day with out any scuffs, probably not.

It has given me a bit of time to make some cards though, the first one is for a friend who had invited us to his birthday barbecue this morning.

The stamp is from papermania its a mans world couch potato stamp set, the ribbon is from stash the patterned paper is from dovecraft funky vintage collection and the shapes were cut using  a shape cutter and sixxiz button die. Cards for men are really hard to visualise, but I think I'm slowly getting there.

This next card had been made using a Sarah Kay colouring page, I have coloured it in using prismacolour pencils, and layered it on 2 nellie seddon( I think thats what they are called ) nesting dies, the paper was from a free set with  a card making magazine this month.,and  I have  embellished  it with a  bit of pink ribbon and some purple hearts on the corners, and an especially for you sentiment.

Wonderous Weekend.

It has been a beautiful sunny weekend down here, and the weather just brings everyone out, We took the children for a bike ride around the Hoe, we want to get them used to riding so we can all go out as a family on our bikes. I took the camera and took some photo's and tried out some of the different features on the camera ( which is bad really as I have had the camera since 2006)

Looking out over the Hoe.

The Wedding Cake in Black and White,

The old Pier, ( well where it used to be)

Smeatons Tower, all taken  in Sepia mode. The children were very tired by the time we got back to the car, but at least it's a start.

Here are a couple of cards that I have made and some glass bead bracelets,

This is another male card, it is a decoupage panel just overlaid on a plain red back ground with faux stitching around the edge.

This is another Sugar Nellie stamp, I think she is called cupcake, I just layered with a couple of MME papers, some plain blue ones and a simple sentiment,

These have been made using various glass beads, metal spacers and elasticated  cord, so they are nice and stretchy,

I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine,

Just a couple of cards I've made

Here are a couple of cards I have made, I have only been dabbling in card making since January but am now slowly getting the hang of it,

This one I have used a Dressing Up Maggie stamp from Sugar Nellie and just a couple of papers from MME, the buttons were from stash, I still cannot draw straight lines though.

This one is for a friends 40th Birthday, I used the Mens World Stamps and paper for this one, they are really good funky stamps for men.

see you soon Jo x
