Playing With My Brayer

I was in a little craft shop last week when I spotted a speedball brayer and it was half price!!!! It would have been rude to leave it behind so it came home with me. All I needed then was some Big and Juicy ink pads and I would be able to brayer to my hearts content, lucky for me create and craft had them on buy one get one free over the bank holiday weekend.

So today with a couple of hours spare and no children around I had a play with the brayer and ink pads, my Dining room table looks like an explosion in a paper factory, and by searching the internet for tutorials I have created my first sunset,

I used glossy photo paper for the brayering and managed to get a couple of ink spots where they should not be but overall I'm pleased with how it came out I love the viva decor grass stamps they look great when they are stamped.

My Father in Law has just celebrated a milestone birthday and this is the card I made for him, He has always loved aeroplanes and this sort of came about.

I used a vintage aeroplane image from the internet and for some reason the printer printed it out in sepia.
I mounted it on to beige card and inked and distressed around the edges,
Stamps are Viva Decor, and some magnetic stamps I picked up in a bargain bin which I  stamped in brown ink, I used a Tim Holtz ticket die for the sentiment and the ribbon and brad came from stash.

The Childrens Royal Wedding Party.

I still remember the huge street party I went to when Charles and Diana got married and knew that our street would not be having a big street party, So my friend Sarah and I organised a little party for our children and the ones they play with in the street.
We ended up hosting it in my garage as it was windy and overcast, but that didn't matter the children loved it, and hopefully they will remember it like I remembered Charles and Dianas

This is the Union Jack cake stand I made complete with red, white and blue cakes.

The front of the party favour bags, each child had a commemorative magnet or spoon, the bag was made using my craft robo and decorated with a banner flag , and print out if the happy couple.

It's Been A While

I have just realised its been nearly a month since my last post!!!!, sometimes life just takes over, first of all I had a cold sore in my right eye, which caused my vision to be bleary for a week or so, I can honestly say I would not like to get one again it was not a nice experience.

I have been doing a little bit of crafting but have keep getting sidetracked by my Kindle, I have always loved reading and the kindle is just fantastic nice and light and so easy to use, anyhow here are a  couple of cards I made for a friends of ours whos birthdays were in January,

For this one I used a fantastic image from Bugaboo and he has been coloured in with papermania brush pens, The papers are from from dovecrafts funky vintage range and the sentiment and orange cord are from stash,

This card has been created with a wild rose studio stamp coloured in with papermania brush pens,  he has been layered with labels 8, the papers are from papermania it's a man's world paper pack and I just added a sentiment.
